Sustainability refers to making the best possible choices for your health, the health of the community and the environment. The bio-dynamic farming method is a holistic practice where all things are considered living interrelated systems – including plants, animals and even the solar system.
Bio-dynamic farming methods, similar to organic methods grow their food without the use of any pesticides, herbicides or genetically modified organisms (GMO’s). But they go one step further

Well, not only does the bio-dynamic farming practice exclude the use of any chemical inputs, but the holistic farming method also has a very clear and deliberate approach to ensuring the soil structure in which the plants and produce are grown and of which the livestock consume are in its most natural and healthy state possible too.
Essentially, bio-dynamic Famers are growers of soil rather than growers of plants. This makes sense, right? If you are growing plants in a soil structure that is depleted and unhealthy than you can’t really expect the plants that are growing in the soil to be at optimum health. Likewise, the livestock that are grazing the healthy plants are in turn much healthier than livestock grazing depleted and less nutrient dense plants.

Eating healthfully and sustainably generally go hand in hand but the best part for Demeter bio-dynamic produce is that it tastes amazing too.
