All our eggs are from family owned and operated farms that are certified Organic or Biodynamic according to the National Standard.
This ensures that the eggs are coming from farms that show:
- soil structure and healthy pasture without the use of synthetic fertilisers or chemicals
- free access for chickens to roam pasture* with low density rates eg. less than 120 per ha Hoskings Family Farm
- portable sheds moved regularly
- chickens free of antibiotics and growth promotants
- certified Demeter Biodynamic chickens only supplement to feed on ‘BD’ pasture is certified Demeter Biodynamic feed ie. grain – no meat or fish meal – and no artificial light used in sheds.
* access to fresh pasture is vital – if you have bare soil and no pasture then density rates are meaningless as the chicken has nothing to eat.
